LIVE SCORING

macho nacho fc tops the table after the first round of 30 by virtue of most goals scored. As explained and discussed previously, Chapala grabs the high score with a virtuoso performance that was felt high and wide through the entire fantasyleague.com system, as previously discussed.

The first transfer window has been processed. Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, Fergie and UNREAL are listed in the same account at the moment. Because of this, UNREAL is unable to make bids through the sealed bids engine. Instead, he has sent his bids the MLW way - that is by emailing them to majorleaguewalt@gmail.com. I, as Chairman, can adjust his team and budget if necessary. This week, he put in two bids and won them both, beating out WAGS for one player. Therefore, when you see the Transaction Report, you'll see that the PROCESS tab is still unclicked for WAGS. This is because he actually didn't win Routledge of Swansea as UNREAL beat him out. Sorry for the confusion, but we are trying to work it out with the home office in Airstrip One. In the meantime, we'll have to deal with it this way.

Round 1 Fixtures; Gemmill Trophy Ceremony

Round 1

• Gemmill 78 v. Real Chapala
• OzaukeeBrewMeisters  v. Stevie G FC

2012 Champion Gemmill 78 will be holding a celebratory trophy ceremony Saturday night at The Brass Door at 152 Madison in beautiful downtown Memphis. His new band, Favourite Fallen Idol, is a tribute to the greatest band to hail from Coventry, England - adorable. FFI will be making its debut in honor of Gemmill's 2012 championship season. As is customary in the Walt-iverse, the previous season's holders, AC Frayser, will be in attendance to hand over the trophy to the current champion, Gemmill...I assume.

I understand there will be a Who's Who of Walt trophy winners in attendance. Deportivo is scheduled to make an appearance and rumor has it that he may bring his Euro trophy along that he won this summer to eat peanuts out of at the bar. MLW Supporters Shield holder Stevie G is attending as is FMAC, 2011 Coppa di Walt, and so many runners-up I've lost count. So come on down to The Brass Door to hear the wild shirtless lyrics of Gemmill and the bong-rattling bass of Frumundacheese, who will be accepting his FA Cup winners medal as well.

Frumunda (L) and Gemmill

Round 1 kicks Saturday 9 am CDT

Gemmill 78, Campione

The dashing and Scottish Archie Gemmill

Congratulations to the Gemmill 78, Champions of the Walt League Premier. Gemmill took care of business against twice (in 3 seasons) runners-up FMAC over two legs. A deserved champion, Gemmill will represent the Walt League in next season's Champions League. This will be the first season that European specialists FMAC will not be in Europe. The WLP will suffer for this, but perhaps Europa League representatives Ozaukee (Coppa di Walt champions) and/or Shield winners BIFA (NOT F**KING LIKELY) will scrap and fight to get out of the group stages.

Regardless, season 3 of the WLP has come to a close. The league started with 9 folks and rose to 16 in just 3 short years. We'll be back in August, hopefully with a proper auction draft. Will you please reply back and let me know if you plan on participating? If not, then I will search for your replacement.

Also, I'm putting out feelers for a EURO 2012 league. First game is June 8. We've held one international tournament so far - the 2010 World Cup Walt. WAGS holds that trophy. If you are interested, then let me know.

Congratulations again to Gemmill, Lords of Peg Lane, as well as the other trophy winners this year.

Walt League Premier -  Gemmill 78
Coppa di Walt - OzaukeeBrewMeisters
Supporter's Shield (regular season champion) - BIFA All-Stars FC
FA Cup - Sporting Frumundacheese
BIFA Spirit (BS) Cup - Memphis Rogues

Final, 2nd Leg tomorrow, Frumunda wins FA Cup

Congratulations are in order for Sporting Frumundacheese as they win the first trophy in the club's long history by holding off Beerguts United by a single point in the FA Cup competition. Well done.

The season comes to a conclusion tomorrow with the 2nd leg of the Final. Gemmill already has one hand on the trophy as they have built a, surely insurmountable, 17-1 lead over 10th seeded FMAC. All games tomorrow kick off at the same time, so the new champion will be crowned sometime just before half past 10 CDT.

Quarterfinals Results; Semifinals Results; Finals are set

The weeks long quarterfinals match-ups are finally over. With that, four teams advance to the semifinals, which are completed as well. The transfer window closes tonight at 10 pm CDT. The FA Cup final is this weekend so that competition is still in play as is the BS Cup. Prepare accordingly.

The semifinals ended up being #2 seeded Real Chapala taking on #10 FMAC and #3 Memfrica facing off against #4 Gemmill. In what turned out to be as dramatic a semifinal as there ever has been, FMAC used a Fernando Torres hat trick to complete a comeback on Chapala and win by one, 28-27. Gemmill won the other semi over Memfrica in convincing fashion 21-4. This sets up the final between Gemmill and FMAC.

This will be Gemmill's first final and first crack at a trophy. Will nerves do them in? Lowest seed FMAC, who limped into the playoffs through the backdoor by losing 5 in a row to end the regular season including an embarrassing defeat by Romo (is there any other kind?), is playing in its 2nd final in three Walt League Premier seasons. FMAC has qualified all three years for at least the semifinals and with the 2011 Coppa di Walt in the trophy room, along with two successful European campaigns, a victory here would leave no doubt as to which is the SuperClub of the world's best fantasy league. Results below.

Quarterfinals, 2nd Leg:

• BIFA All-Stars FC (11-19)  Fox Meadows Athletic Club  - FMAC advances 31-17
• Real Chapala  (8-3)  Stevie G FC - Real Chapala advances 23-11
• Memfrica SC  (11-3)  Memphis Rogues - Memfrica SC advances 26-14
• Gemmill 78  (11-3)  Beerguts United - Gemmill 78 advances 17-3

Semifinals, 1st Leg:

• Fox Meadows Athletic Club  (14-16)  Real Chapala
• Gemmill 78  (9-3)  Memfrica SC

Semifinals, 2nd Leg:

• Real Chapala (11-14)  Fox Meadows Athletic Club - FMAC advances 28-27
• Memfrica SC  (1-12)  Gemmill 78 - Gemmill 78 advances 21-4
