For purposes of the Walt League Premier, Round 25 will consist of games played on Tuesday, Feb. 1 and Wednesday, Feb. 2. Fantasyleague.com has lumped both this midweek slate of games (our Round 25) with the weekend's slate (our Round 26). So the scores will not be reset after our Round 25 at fantasyleague.com. Furthermore, they threw the 3 midweek makeup games from last week in with Round 25. These DO NOT count towards our Round 25 scoring. Only BIFA and Frodo scored 0 points. Everyone else either scored in the positive or the negative. Games for Round 25 will be determined by the number of points scored on 2/1 and 2/2 minus your points credited from last week's midweek makeup games. For the record, these are the number of points that each team will subtract after Wednesday's games.

Round 23 Recap
Updated table at http://waltleaguepremier.blogspot.com/p/table.html.
Updated playoff chances at http://www.sportsclubstats.com/You/WaltLeague.html.
Updated chances to win the BS Cup at http://www.sportsclubstats.com/You/BIFASpiritCup.html.
Royal Chapala goes to both the top of the league and the top of the BS Cup. Like in all games between Big 3 teams, FMAC-Frayser lived up to its billing. The Budweiser Game of the Week saw FMAC take down Frayser 16-12. Frayser did receive a little help from the much-maligned Assists Panel as he recorded assists for Albrighton and Agbonlahor on Villa's only goal this weekend scored by James Collins. Both soccernet.com and premierleague.com officially scored it as unassisted. The Assists Panel saw it another way and scored not one, but two assists on the same goal. FMAC, like striking sanitation workers, shall and did overcome - 3 pts. to the Foxy Ghettos.
While the battle is still on in the top 3 of the table, the quest for the other 3 playoff spots is as heated and jumbled as ever. Six teams are all within four points of each other in trying to claim the last 3 playoff spots.
(Now this is simply my opinion, but I must say that, as an observer of MLS and its playoff system, the rest of the world is missing out, what with their single table, no playoffs and such-and-such. If these leagues had their 20 teams battling it out for 8 spots, in turn squaring off over 2 legs in each round of the playoffs, then I think it would blow the doors off of the current system. Talk about must-see teevee. But hey, that's just me.)

Round 23 News and Notes
*Round 23 begins tomorrow (1/15). Blackpool and Liverpool made up their snowed out game from last month midweek. Fantasyleague.com has lumped the fantasy scores from that game onto this week's round of games. Please be advised that everyone is at 0 for the start of tomorrow's slate despite what the site says. Three teams are affected - Memfrica (-1), FMAC (-1) and Stevie G Torres (3). These points do not count towards the Round 23 results.
This is a busy week as 3 competitions are in play - the BS Cup, the Coppa di Walt and the Walt League itself. We are entering the final third of the regular season - everyone has already played each other twice (one round was canceled due to inclement weather). The Budweiser game of the week features two of the Walt League's Big 3 - Frayser vs. FMAC. A coveted quarterfinal playoff bye is at stake.
The Coppa di Walt resumes with the first of 4 legs in the semifinal round. FMAC takes on UR Pathetic and in the other matchup, the Gemmillians take on the Memfricans in the Battle of Bartlett.
The BS Cup enters Round 13 out of 22. For your odds of winning the inaugural BS Cup, please consider the following link: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/You/BIFASpiritCup.html
In viewing the BS Cup results this week, I noticed that Frayser and FMAC had what must be the greatest game ever played in the Walt League universe. Frayser and FMAC drew at 29. To quote the venerable Eddy Calvin Laloosh, "That was a humdinger." Hells bells, that would have taken Guard Diddly Iddly Dogeridoo a damn half a semester to be competitive in a game like that. And where does he come off calling his team "All-Stars"? I would think "Honorable Mentions" or "Half-A$$es" provides a more apt, that is apter, description.
Good luck this week.

FA Cup results
The FA Cup is up and running and the suddenly rampant Beerguts U. has surged into the lead by scoring a fistful of goals and going 1 for 1 on clean sheets.
For our purposes, the competition started in the 3rd round. Just for a point of reference, the 3rd round is the round of 64 - think NCAA basketball tournament. Drawn games are replayed, which means that you can receive or lose points should you have a player participating in the replayed game. Replayed games are contested at random times. For example, the Leicester/Manchester City game is scheduled for Tuesday, January 18. So, if you want to get ahead in this, then keep your eyes open to see if you have any guys participating in a replay and adjust your roster accordingly. See the FA Cup tab on your team page to see upcoming fixtures for each player.
Round 23 starts this weekend.

Pro Cup draw
The fantasyleague.com system-wide Pro Cup competition's 1st round has been drawn. If you go to the League Table link at the site, then you will notice a brand-new icon beside each team's name. Click on that to see your matchup. Some lucky f*ckers receive byes to the next round. The site says that the 1st round will be for games played between the week of Jan. 11 through January 17, 2011. Evidence suggests that there are 2410 teams in this Cup. Can BIFA ride the Bendtner train to cup glory?

Updated table at waltleaguepremier.blogspot.com and updated playoff chances at www.sportsclubstats. com/You/WaltLeague.html.
Frayser leapfrogs back on top with a win and a Chapala defeat.
No league games this weekend. However the FA Cup competition begins. Be sure to set your lineup. This is in a rotisserie format. That is to say, that there are no head-to-head matchups. Whichever team has accumulated most points during FA Cup games through to the final in May is the champion. Memfrica holds the cup.
