Chapala maintains its lead at the top of the table in spite of a loss to the machoans. With just 10 rounds remaining in the regular season, the table is tightening up. Just 6 points separates 5th place from 13th place. Round 21 begins tomorrow on the 1st of January. There will be a transfer window closing tonight at 10 pm CST.

This week in the Suicide Cup, Chapala and Deportivo bow out with low scores in its respective groups. Deportivo actually tied with FMAC with a hearty -2, but lost it at the assist tiebreaker.

I still can't get the damned Suicide Cup link to work so, to date, Sporting Frumundacheese and Deportivo la Naranja Mound have been eliminated from Group A. Memphis Rogues and Real Chapala have been eliminated from Group B.

Chapala wins the battle of 1st and 2nd to move to 4 points clear at the top. The Ramblin' Rogues and Frumunda are the first two casualties of the newly-minted Suicide Cup. Round 20 begins on Saturday. There is another quick turnaround for Round 21 which will run on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 1 and 2. A transfer window will be open for that round until Monday night at 10 pm CST.

Deportivo wakes from its months-long slumber to share the high score with FMAC this round. Chapala holds onto a slim lead at the top, but faces its biggest test of the season in Round 18 against 2nd place FMAC. macho reaches its first cup final by ousting old man Fergie in the Coppa di Walt semis while Memfrica has a chance to be the first to lift the CdW twice.

Round 19 will be played on Wednesday, December 26 - Boxing Day. The transfer window for this round will close on Christmas night at 10 pm CST.

The Suicide Cup, a new competition for the WLP, will be introduced on Wednesday as well. This trophy has been played for across the pond in Major League Walt, but never in the WLP. It should be a 15 week competition with the team with the low score being eliminated each week, but I let time run right past me and don't have enough time since there are only 13 rounds left in our regular season. So, instead of a 15 round competition, we will split the field into 2 groups of eight clubs. The last team standing after 7 rounds in each group will advance to a best of 3 round grudge match to be declared Suicide Cup champion. The draw, randomly executed this afternoon, is below.

This weekend begins a fast and furious 4 rounds that will be played over 12 days. Round 18 is Saturday and Sunday. Round 19 is December 26th, Boxing Day I believe it's called. Round 20 is December 29th and 30th. Round 21 is January 1st and 2nd.

There will be transfer windows for each round the night before said round closing at 10 pm CST. Please adjust your lineups accordingly.

The final leg of the Coppa di Walt semis is this weekend. Currently, macho leads Fergie 25-22 while Memfrica is leading Stevie G 33-13.
