Deportivo wakes from its months-long slumber to share the high score with FMAC this round. Chapala holds onto a slim lead at the top, but faces its biggest test of the season in Round 18 against 2nd place FMAC. macho reaches its first cup final by ousting old man Fergie in the Coppa di Walt semis while Memfrica has a chance to be the first to lift the CdW twice.
Round 19 will be played on Wednesday, December 26 - Boxing Day. The transfer window for this round will close on Christmas night at 10 pm CST.
The Suicide Cup, a new competition for the WLP, will be introduced on Wednesday as well. This trophy has been played for across the pond in Major League Walt, but never in the WLP. It should be a 15 week competition with the team with the low score being eliminated each week, but I let time run right past me and don't have enough time since there are only 13 rounds left in our regular season. So, instead of a 15 round competition, we will split the field into 2 groups of eight clubs. The last team standing after 7 rounds in each group will advance to a best of 3 round grudge match to be declared Suicide Cup champion. The draw, randomly executed this afternoon, is below.
